Rachael Flanagan Returns To 10 Downing Street

Rachael Flanagan, the founder of a Swansea-based commercial and domestic cleaning company Mrs Bucket, attended a special St David’s Day reception at 10 Downing Street.

For the third time, the managing director of the Welsh company joined a handpicked number of Wales’ leading business people, sportsmen and women, celebrities and members of the armed forces, at an event which is held every four years.

At the event, the award-winning entrepreneur, who has previously been recognised as an inspirational business leader at both the Inspire Wales Awards and Leading Wales Awards, met with prominent politicians, including the Prime Minister David Cameron, and the Secretary of State for Wales, Stephen Crabb.

The reception included Welsh produce from chocolate to Welsh cakes, and entertainment was provided by the Only Boys Aloud choir.

Racheal said “In 2012, I was personally invited by the Prime Minister David Cameron to attend this function at 10 Downing Street, and even had a one-to-one chat with the Prime Minister, which was an amazing experience.

“I was thrilled to be asked to attend this reception for a second time and represent my company and country at such a high profile event. Once again, it was a great experience.”

This is the latest high profile engagement for Rachael, who has previously attended a Wales Reception at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, a Royal Reception on the first night of the 2014 NATO Conference, and a special reception in Whitehall to recognise the important contribution women in Wales are making to their communities and the Welsh economy.

Mrs Bucket was founded when Rachael was just 18, with £20 which she used for promotional flyers. The company has grown from a one-woman domestic cleaning company to a full-service domestic and commercial cleaning company with offices in Cardiff, Newport, Swansea, and Bristol, 300 employees and over 250 domestic and commercial clients across south Wales.
