Meet our new business development manager Catherine Driscoll from Cardiff. Catherine joined us in June so you may have already met her as she has been busy travelling around South Wales meeting new clients.
We asked her a few questions to get to know her better.
Tell us a bit about where you worked prior to joining Mrs Bucket?
In 2007 I established a company called South Wales Shredding which I worked at until 2010, when the business was acquired by a national company called Shred-it. I was responsible for driving forward the sales of the business, so I’ve always worked in a business development capacity.
Why you were attracted to the job at Mrs Bucket?
I was 27 when I started South Wales Shredding and so when I was approached to join Mrs Bucket I was instantly drawn and felt an affinity with Rachael’s background and story. As soon as I met Rachael, I was inspired by her ambition and knew that I could make a real difference to the company going forward. I liked the ethics of the company, its professionalism and everyone was really friendly.
What are you hoping to achieve with the role?
Rachael has exciting plans for the business which I’m really looking forward to being a part of. I’m focused on growing the business in south Wales. For me to be successful in my role, I have to really believe in the company and trust that it can deliver the service I promise. This is something that comes easily in working for Mrs Bucket. I’m loving the job and that is translating into fantastic sales for the company.
Tell us about your typical day?
I’m out on the road visiting prospective clients. One minute I’ll be in a manufacturing plant in Swansea, the next I’ll be in an office in Newport. I love meeting new people so this is the perfect job for me.
What gives you the most satisfaction in your job?
It’s an obvious one – winning new business, then hearing about how Mrs Bucket is transforming their workplace!
How do you unwind after a long day?
Usually with a glass of wine, sometimes (but not often) with a workout in the gym!
Be honest, do you clean at home? If not, who does?
Yes….I love cleaning!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I’ve got two children who keep me busy!
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Greece – I love the food, weather and people!
Favourite place in Wales?
It has to be West Wales. We’ve had a holiday home in Saundersfoot for a while. The beaches in that part of the world are spectacular.
Favourite restaurant in South Wales?
The Summer Palace in Llandaff – a great Chinese.
What makes you smile?
It sounds cheesy but I’m always smiling. I’m a very happy go lucky person!
