Commercial cleaning firm, Mrs Bucket, is celebrating after making its latest appointment in the form of Commercial Area Manager for Bristol and Newport.

The company, which spans South Wales and the South West, was launched 13 years ago by entrepreneur Rachael Flannigan.

New Area Manager, Kevin Hall, started with the company in August. His background includes decades of experience in communications and cleaning.

Mr Hall, from Monmouth, spent nearly a decade in the Royal Air Force after leaving school, where he worked in communications monitoring. When he left, he secured a job in the prison service, spending 25 years as a Prison Officer.

For five years, he taught industrial cleaning to inmates and guards and gained qualifications from The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICS) in Biohazard Cleaning as well as teaching qualifications.

He took early retirement and for the next four years he worked for a private firm, which supplied cleaning services to retail clients across Worcester, Weston-super-Mare, Newport and Oxford. He oversaw the cleaning of 54 stores and 220 staff.

“Then Mrs Bucket came along,” said Mr Hall. “I saw the job and applied straight away. I was delighted to be appointed and my main responsibilities include looking after operations in Newport, Cardiff and Bristol. I am focussed on making sure existing clients and staff are happy and well looked after. I will also focus on expanding the business in the Bristol areas with new contract wins.

“I love every minute of the role. This company is phenomenal to work for and in the way it operates. It is so well organised and fully immersed in the 21st century.”

Founder Rachael Flannigan, said Kevin was a “highly experienced addition to the team” and was part of the company’s “ambitious expansion plans”.

“We have big things ahead of us in 2019,” she said. “We have just celebrated a record last quarter, taking a quarter of a million, the appointment of 20 new cleaning staff and the launch of our new premises and headquarters in Swansea.

“Kevin will be looking to strengthen and forge new relationships, especially in the Bristol area. He is a happy, hardworking man and a fantastic advocate for the company. He will help us stand out in the market and help give us a fresh approach with new ideas. We are delighted to have him on-board.

Started by Rachael Flanagan in 2005 when she was just 18, Mrs Bucket has grown from a domestic cleaning operation to a full-service cleaning company, with offices in Swansea, Cardiff, Newport and Bristol.

From her humble beginnings, Rachael now employs over 300 staff, services over 250 business, and last year enjoyed over £3million turnover.
